This painting of Chicago's Cloudgate, more commonly called "The Bean" is another study/experiment from Karin Jurick's Different Strokes website. Its very different working from someone else's reference photo that you have no connection to, and - for me- to work in this looser, alla prima style. Keeps me challenged!
We are Moving! Yea! Our house needed more rebuilding than remodeling and it has taken a year, but we had a final inspection yesterday. Today is packing and tomorrow night we hope to be sleeping there. It's going to take a bit to get my studio up and painting again, so it may be a week or more before the next post, but its going to be great to get settled in!

Terry, Lovely painting. I went to Karin's blog and was astounded at all the different interpretations of the Bean. I've never been to Chicago but now I'm getting very curious. Good luck with the move; I've moved too many times in life, and because we're still renting, I know we're moving again, in a year, maybe two. Ugh.
Hope your move goes smoothly and I look forward to seeing more paintings once you've settled in.

So nice for you to have a newly remodeled home. I hope you will post photos of your new studio! I like your "Bean" painting. I didn't know about Karin Jurick's photo challenge..a great idea and fun to see the results.
You are especially good with shiny surfaces and reflections. This painting and the car are two of my favorites.
