Winning by a Hare

oil on panel, 16x16

This is the third (and last, for now) Carousel painting. Along with 7 other paintings, they will be going into a show next month benefiting the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation, which provides services to patients and their families. Its been fun getting everything ready for it. Winning by a Hare is my personal favorite of the three...

Love the pun!! And fun paintings!! These carousel paintings reminded me of how hard it was for me to choose which animal to ride on the carousel when I was a kid. I didn't want to miss anything special so I'd dither and dither. In the end, I'd always go for one of those wild-eyed horses!

Thanks, Chris! I always liked the carousels that had other animals besides just horses, and when I was very little, I thought the bench seat with the swans was the perfect princess carriage...

Robyn, thats the nicest compliment! Thanks :-) I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying all the fantastic things in your current posts - those frames in particular are haunting me.
